What chef wears?

Chef coat, apron, scarf, hairnet or chef cap, anti-skid shoes and gloves while working.

The traditional chef’s uniform (or chef’s whites) includes a toque Blanche (“white hat”), white double-breasted jacket, pants in a black-and-white houndstooth pattern, and apron.
A chef’s coat is designed to keep the chef safe. It is made of high quality, double-thick cotton, usually fire-resistant.

I complete my uniform with white cotton underpants (personal preference: trunks or boxer briefs, but briefs will do. Just so long as they’re reasonably tight-fitting) and white cotton socks (not too thin, because sweat. Lots of sweat.)
