A fruit tart is a dessert that typically consists of a pastry shell filled with sweetened fruit or custard and baked. The pastry shell can be either a pie crust, puff pastry, or shortcrust. Ingredients:

-1 puff pastry sheet
-1 egg
-1 tablespoon sugar
-1/2 cup (120 ml) fruit jam, or apricot jam
-1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
-1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
-pinch of salt
-1 tablespoon cold butter, melted
-1 tablespoon sugar
-1 tablespoons all-purpose flour

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit (200 degrees Celsius).
  2. Place the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface and roll out to a large rectangle. Trim the edge even with the edge of your baking pan.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together the egg and sugar. Pour into the pastry shell. Spread evenly over the top of the tart.
  4. Bake for 10 minutes, or until golden brown. Remove from oven and let cool for 5 minutes.
  5. In a small saucepan, heat jam over medium heat until hot. Stir in cinnamon, nutmeg and salt. Set aside to cool.
  6. In a medium bowl, melt butter over low heat. Stir in sugar and flour until smooth.
  7. Pour mixture over warm jam and spread evenly over pie. Serve immediately
