Do guest rooms require landline phones in the State of Florida?
Before the proliferation of wireless, telephones were placed in guestrooms because they generated income for the hotel. A fee was applied to the guest’s bill for each call made.
Today in the U. S., guestroom telephones are more of an amenity…like blow dryers or coffeemakers. But, I don’t believe phones are required.
Does is really matter to have a phone in the room anymore? Hotels are providing their apps or in room TV features to contact for any services etc.
Unless its a statutory requirement for classification or certification then in room phones are like outdated.
