Does your hotel charge guests for mailing lost & found items?

Pretty much this ^

I’ve checked out the SOP on Lost & Found here, but it didn’t mention anything regarding the cost of returning the items, so I was wondering what your hotels do? Thx!

Yes, the cost for returning the items is normally billed to the guest.

Unless, the postage is very nominal charges or a special decision is taken by the Exe. housekeeper to wave off the charges or a limit is set by the management for the same.

No, its a free of charge service

So not even mailing costs are charged?

@ramynabil postage/mailing charges are definitely billed to the guest.

I don’t think any overseas mailing charges will be waived by the hotel, May be for inland mailing only.

we do not charge the guest inside country. Its a hotel gesture that we do this as a courtesy of being our guest.

If the guest is from outside country and have come through an agent , we hand over the item to the agent with the authorization from guest.
If its a direct guest , then we look in to the cost of mailing, if the cost is not very high, then its waved off by the hotel.
